Autumn Adventures
- Off-Campus
Join us for an unforgettable afternoon of adventure and creativity, perfect for the whole family! We'll kick off the day at the park’s Hines Hill Campus with some delicious fall treats before tackling an activity of your choosing.
Volunteer in the Park: Free
Join fellow Flashes to make a meaningful impact by contributing your time removing invasive species to preserve the natural flora to the area.
Towpath Hike or Brandywine Hike: $5 per person
Hike the scenic towpath for a low impact walk led by Jennifer Daring, ‘21, alumna and outdoor recreation specialist for the Cleveland Metroparks. Or join alum Amanda Schuster, ‘06, for a moderately strenuous hike to Brandywine Falls.
Printmaking Workshop: $10 per person
Create your own unique artwork to take home by collecting leaves and other natural materials in this hands-on workshop led by Kent State Associate Professor Taryn McMahon.
Biking: $25 per person
Bring your own bike for a journey along the scenic Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail, with a pit stop at Peninsula’s PurpleBrown Farm Store to enjoy some locally grown, organic foods.
A portion of all paid activities support Kent State’s Environmental Science and Design Research Initiative. Each activity happens simultaneously so participation in more than one is not an option.
