Extra, Extra! Newsroom Courtship, Read All About It!
Our Story
We were both journalism majors and met while working at the Daily Kent Stater during the fall 2007 semester. We saw a lot of each other around the newsroom, but got to know each other better during the next semester (spring 2008), when Jeff was sports editor, and I was a principal reporter. We quickly realized how much we had in common and started dating that March. We fondly remember the walks around campus and our "dates" that included eating off my meal plan. We really value all that we share because of Kent State, especially from working at the Stater.
The Proposal and Marriage
Jeff proposed on a walk around campus, near Taylor Hall, the building where we met, in June 2012. We are getting married on September 7, 2013.
Staying Connected to Kent State Today
Both of our families live in Northeast Ohio, so we have always been close to Kent State. We plan to stay in the area, too. We love coming back on a Saturday to take a walk around campus and then go to dinner downtown. We also try to come back for Homecoming every year, and attend basketball and football games when we can.
