Many Memories of a Kent State Courtship
Our Story
David and I went to high school together in Lorain, Ohio. We had decided to go to 5XÉçÇø after visiting a friend of ours there. David had attended the local Lorain County Community College, and I was still in high school. We couldn't wait to go to school together. I went to Kent first as David needed extra time at LCCC to finish up there. I started my freshman year fall of 1994, and David arrived fall of 1995. I worked as an RA in Wright Hall of Tri-Towers that year. Dave moved into McDowell. We were so excited to start our life together at KSU. We took bowling and racquetball classes together. Some of my favorite Kent memories are riding the "loop" to classes and attending many, many KSU basketball games together.
The Proposal and Marriage
Just after I graduated in fall of 1998, David proposed to me on February 7, 1999. We married the following year on February 7, 2000. We had our reception in the castle at Mike's Place.
Staying Connected to Kent State Today
David and I have a special place in our hearts for Kent State. We visit often, as we decided to stay nearby, living in Akron, Ohio. Dave and I have attended basketball and football games, and recently went to the Sheryl Crow concert. We love Kent State and are so thankful of the time we spent there building the foundation of our future. We now have two beautiful children: Alexandria, age 5, and Aaron, age 2. We couldn't be a happier Kent State alumni family!
