Marquis Davis
Biography
Marquis earned his Bachelor of Science in Sports Administration in 2012 from 5XÉçÇø and his Master of Arts in Sport and Recreation Management in 2015 from the same institution. Before joining the College of the Arts (CotA) as the director of access, belonging and engagement (ABE) he held positions in the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship and the Division of People, Culture and Belonging (DPCB) as an academic advisor, student organization advisor and assistant director for the Learning, Engagement and Belonging lab. Marquis strongly advocates for student success, supporting their academic achievements and personal growth. He is dedicated to retention, persistence and graduation for all students.
Throughout his tenure, Marquis has had a strong affinity for collaboration with faculty, staff and students across the university by facilitating workshops, serving on various university-level committees and teaching leadership and professional development courses. As director, he supports college leadership by spearheading student retention initiatives, fostering leadership development, and maintaining a student-first approach to promoting access and belonging.
Outside of his position, Marquis enjoys drawing, poetry, photography and spending time with family and friends.
