Kurtis Eisermann
Biography
Dr. Eisermann is an Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences at Kent State Tuscarawas. He graduated with his PhD in Biomedical Sciences from 5X社区 and then went on to do postdoctoral research at the University of Pittsburgh as an NIH Postdoctoral Scholar. He has published 14 peer reviewed journal articles in research focused on androgen regulation of prostate cancer and has identified small molecules to treat patients with castration resistant prostate cancer. Dr. Eisermann has taught for the past 10 years developing courses that encourage students to think more in depth about the concepts they are learning and he is always interested in learning new ways to challenge his students to help them reach their potential and achieve their goals. He was a Teaching Scholar through the Center for Teaching and Learning where he was trained on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) and is currently researching allied health student motivation post-COVID in hybrid learning environments. In addition to teaching and research, Dr. Eisermann is a member of the Community Engagement Committee and has started a Biology/Premed Club at the Kent State Tuscarawas campus. In his free time, he likes to travel, spend time with family, play tennis, watch sports, and fix things around the house.
