Esmaeel Asadi
Biography
Esmaeel started his teaching career as an Adjunct Faculty at 5XÉçÇø in January 2020 teaching courses such as Structural Systems I and II and Introduction to Building Structures. Esmaeel has also been an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University teaching courses such as Earthquake Design and Strength of Materials there. Esmaeel graduated from Case Western Reserve University in 2020 with a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering. He also holds an MS degree in Structural Engineering from Tehran Polytonic University as well. His research and publications are centered around resilience and sustainable built environments, innovative structural systems, and intelligent structure and infrastructure systems. His research has led to numerous publications in highly cited structural engineering journals such as Structural Safety, Engineering Structures, and Journal of Structural Engineering. In addition to his positions in academia, Esmaeel is active in the transportation industry working with consulting engineering firms in Cleveland as a bridge engineer. He has been involved in numerous projects in the state of Ohio, Florida, Texas, and Michigan, among others. Esmaeel has served in multiple leadership of positions and received the Graduate Student Council Appreciation Award and Student Leadership Award from Case Western Reserve University. Esmaeel serves as a reviewer for several respected journals including the Journal of Structural Engineering, the Journal of Building Engineering, and the Structural Design of Tall and Special buildings. Esmaeel also served as the Chair of the Schools section for 2021 ASCE Ohio's Infrastructure Report Card.
