Commencement Ceremonies Held on Salem Campus

Caps and Gowns Commencement ceremonies were held May 13 for the Kent State Salem Campus. Dr. Steve Nameth, dean of the Kent State Columbiana County Campuses, presided over the event, along with Dr. Celeste Oprean, assistant dean for the Salem Campus.

Students speakers Devyn Rothbrust and Lisa Kesseg The keynote speaker was Rep. Timothy Ginter, State Representative for the 5^th Ohio House District.

Student speakers included Lisa Kesseg of the Insurance Studies program and Devyn Rothbrust of the Horticulture program.

Nearly 400 degrees were awarded this semester between the Kent State Salem and East Liverpool campuses. All Smiles

Kent State Offers Two Free Semiconductor Manufacturing Classes this Spring

Are you looking to dip your toes in the expanding field of microchip manufacturing? 5X�� is offering two free micro-credential courses this spring to high school juniors and seniors, as well as industry professionals, fresh starters, educators, upskillers, reskillers and those excited about the world of semiconductors. The courses – Introduction to Semiconductor Devices and Sand to Silicon – are primarily online, with one planned in-person lab during the semester.

Kent State at Salem held its White Coat Ceremony for students in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, signifying a rite of passage as they transition into the nursing field.

Kent State Salem Announces President’s, Dean’s Lists

Denise A. Seachrist, Ph.D., dean and chief administrative officer of 5X�� at Salem, announced those students named to the Fall 2024 President’s and Dean’s lists. To qualify for the President’s List, students must have a 4.0 grade point average and must have completed 15 hours during the semester. To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must earn a 3.40 or greater grade point average and must have completed 12 or more credit hours for the semester, the majority at the Salem Campus.
