TechHelp Technology Workshops Are Back for Spring!

TechHelp's no-cost technology workshops are back, and they are in full swing this semester, now with more than 30 different topics available!

Students, staff and faculty can view the full spring semester schedule and register for sessions at .

"Whether you're refining skills for programs you already use or diving into uncharted territory with a new application, technology workshops are a great way to learn by working in a firsthand, interactive setting," explains Tom Mahon, manager of training and outreach.

Spring workshop offerings range from ongoing favorites such as Microsoft Office, Adobe applications, Evernote and iOS basics, to new, in-demand courses for popular programs like Arduino and NVivo10.

New Courses This Spring

For those interested in working hands-on with technology and gadgets, an introductory course for Arduino is available this semester. Arduino is a microcontroller kit that allows you to build digital devices that sense and control physical objects like doors, thermostats, LCD displays and much more. This course provides the basic understanding of the software and concepts used to begin building on your own.

NVivo workshops also are available this spring. NVivo, a commonly used data analysis software application, is used to organize and analyze text and other types of qualitative data such as images, audio and video files.

Spring TechHelp training workshops are available now and will continue throughout the semester until Friday, April 29. For course descriptions, dates and registration, visit .

One-on-one Assistance at Walk-in Wednesdays

The TechHelp team also is continuing the Walk-in Wednesday schedule this semester with no appointment walk-up assistance every Wednesday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Walk-in Wednesdays focus on one-on-one tech training and software walkthroughs for students, staff and faculty. If students or employees cannot attend a training session or if they want more in-depth assistance after the scheduled workshop, they can stop by the TechHelp Training Center at the 1st floor Computer Lab in University Library on the Kent Campus.

The 5X社区 Board of Trustees today established a comprehensive, national search to recruit and select the university鈥檚 13th president.

The events of May 4, 1970, placed 5X社区 in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded. From a perspective of nearly 50 years, Kent State remembers the tragedy and leads a contemporary discussion and understanding of how the community, nation and world can benefit from understanding the profound impact of the event.
