Why did you choose 5X社区?

I chose 5X社区 because of the exceptional quality of translational research conducted by the faculty in my department. The professors conduct innovative research that directly impacts real-world applications, which aligns perfectly with my academic and career goals. This provides me with invaluable opportunities to engage in cutting-edge projects and contribute to meaningful advancements. Moreover, 5X社区 boasts a diverse and inclusive student body, attracting individuals from around the globe. As an international student, finding a university that fosters a sense of belonging and community was paramount in my decision-making process. The multicultural environment at Kent State enriches the learning experience and ensures that students from diverse backgrounds feel welcomed and supported. It is a place where I can pursue my passion while feeling a genuine sense of belonging and connection with my peers.

What do you like most about Kent? Do you have a favorite local spot or activity?

I love that social events that promote community building and emotional well-being are given priority as well. The K is my favorite spot.

What is your favorite KSU memory?

The games at the student orientation and the annual international students fashion show.

What are some differences you've noticed in being a graduate student (expectations, pressures, visibility, etc.) than those of an undergraduate student?

As graduate students, there are expectations to take the initiative in getting most things done. There are a lot of things to get done within a relatively short period of time and there's higher need for professional development useful for the outside world at this stage compared to those of an undergraduate student.

What advice do you have for incoming graduate students?

There is always work to be done and many goals to achieve. Amidst this pressure, it鈥檚 important to find a healthy balance between work and life. Make time for enjoyable activities regularly. Your mental and social well-being should not be sacrificed for academic success.

Fun Fact About Me:
