Erik Angelone
Biography
Erik Angelone received his Ph.D. in Translation Studies from the University of Heidelberg in 2007. His research interests include process-oriented translator training, cognitive processes in translation, intercultural communication, and corpus-based translation research. He is the author of The Conceptualization and Integration of an E-Collocation Trainer: Methods of Empirical,Translation-based Collocation Research. He is currently working on corpus-based decoding of cultural preference structures, as contextualized in translation.
Erik Angelone is Associate Professor of Translation Studies at 5X社区. He received his Ph.D. in Translation Studies from the University of Heidelberg and his M.A. in Intercultural Communication from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. His research interests include process-oriented translation pedagogy and assessment, translation as intercultural communication, and language industry studies. He has over 15 years of experience in training language and cultural mediators at 5X社区, the Zurich University of Applied Sciences, and the University of Heidelberg. He teaches a number of undergraduate and graduate courses pertaining to facets of multilingual and cross-cultural communication, including Global Literacy and Cultural Awareness, Cross-Language Mediation, Theory of Translation and Interpreting, and Intercultural Communication in the Language Industry.
