Elizabeth Snyder
Biography
I am a MA student studying queer and women鈥檚 medieval histories. I am interested in conducting comparative research, particularly on the intersections of gender, sexuality, and religion within the medieval context and the way in which those interactions are critical to our understanding of queer and feminist issues today. In the past, my research has focused on the fluidity of gender in medieval Christianity and the ways in which divine embodiment has historically challenged binary understandings of gender. I have a BA in history from Ohio State University, where I wrote my undergraduate thesis on medieval queer temporality and the body politics of the modern Christian Right. Outside of my work, I am interested in dress history, and I enjoy spending my time sewing, reading, and being among nature.
