Course Name: ANTH 48889 Art, Archeology, and Evolution: Exploring Caves of Paleolithic France
Description: This course will immerse students in the art and archaeology of Paleolithic France. We will visit sites inhabited by both Neanderthals and Homo sapiens spanning 400,000 – 14,000 years ago. Our excursions will include the visiting various cave painting sites. Students will explore open-air sites, rock shelters, and elaborate caves. Students will visit several cutting-edge museums along the way while experiencing French metropolises, small towns, and the French countryside.
