The Journalism Education Association has declared Feb. 19-23, 2024 to be Scholastic Journalism Week.
In honor of this week that will celebrate students and advisers who create exceptional journalism in high schools and middle schools, we are encouraging colleges and universities throughout the country to join us in spotlighting alumni who got their starts in high school journalism.

The Center for Scholastic Journalism will be collaborating with the College of Communication and Information at Kent State to share spotlights of alumni who got their start in high school journalism on social media all week.

We Encourage You To Join Us! A Few Tips:
- Gather strong visuals from the alumni being featured
- Think about relevant accounts to tag in the post. Tagging multiple accounts is important to help increase engagement, especially through sharing.
- Consider tagging the alumnus's personal or professional account, their high school's account, or their high school newspaper/yearbook accounts
- Use the following hashtags:
- Share the finished post to your story to increase longevity and visibility. Consider adding interaction stickers, such as relevant links, for more engagement.
