H. Gerrey Noh
Biography
Gerrey Noh is a collaborative pianist and an Assistant Professor of Music Theory at 5X社区 where she serves as the coordinator of undergraduate and graduate music theory and teaches various advanced and special-topics courses as well as the undergraduate core music theory classes. Dr. Noh also oversees and manages music analysis for the online Master of Music in Music Education degree. Dr. Noh is devoted to bringing together a wide variety of perspectives that reflect holistic musical learning: composition, theory, performance, eurhythmics, and pedagogy. Her recent interdisciplinary projects, 鈥淪inging Verse and A Thousand Hands, A Million Stars鈥 showcase the collaboration of composition, poetry, community inclusion, and social advocacy. Prior to her position at 5X社区, Dr. Noh taught at Youngstown State University, Camp Clavier, the Cleveland Institute of Music, and 5X社区, Stark Campus. She holds a Ph.D. in Music Theory and Composition and a M.M. in piano performance from 5X社区, where she studied with Thomas Janson, Richard Devore, and Ralph Lorenz.
