On October 9th-14th, the 5XÉçÇø Precision Flight Team attended the National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA) Regional Safety and Flight Evaluation Conference (SAFECON). This competition was held at Bowling Green State University, at the Wood County Regional Airport. Kent State competes in Region III, which includes flight schools from Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Erin Brockovich, the brash legal clerk turned environmental powerhouse, kicked off the 31st annual Featured Speakers Series at 5XÉçÇø at Stark in September. The Kent State community planted more than 100 trees in the Climate Change Grove to help offset the university’s carbon footprint and provide a way to research the effects of climate change in our immediate environments. Located behind the Warren Student Recreation and Wellness Center, the grove was created through a partnership between University Facilities Management and the Department of Biological Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences.
