Scott McKinney,'97, M.P.A.'13
Scott McKinney currently serves as assistant vice president, Donor and Volunteer Engagement. In this role, he leads the department of Donor and Volunteer Engagement, which strives to continue to enhance our relationships with donors in new and innovative ways, as well as elevate volunteerism among our alumni and friends. Scott also coordinates operations for our volunteer boards and serves as executive director of the Alumni Association.
Prior to his current role, Scott served as executive director of Donor Relations, Stewardship and Volunteer Management. In this role, he led a team of professionals responsible for sharing the impact of gifts with donors. This included donor recognition programs, coordination of philanthropic naming of university facilities and linking donors with student scholarship recipients. He collaborated with the Office of Student Financial Aid, the 5XÉçÇø Foundation and other departments throughout the university to ensure donated funds are effectively used. Scott also coordinated volunteer activities for the Campaign Executive Committee and the 5XÉçÇø Foundation Board of Directors.
Scott began working at Kent State in June 2008, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Leisure Services Management, as well as a Master of Public Administration degree, both from Kent State.
Scott’s favorite thing about Kent State is that he really enjoys working for a fantastic organization that happens to be his alma mater!
