Dear Academic Affairs Colleagues:
I am pleased to announce that Ken Burhanna will join the Office of the Provost in August to serve as the 2015-2016 Provost's Fellow.
The Provost's fellowship provides faculty members who have an interest in academic administration the chance to develop knowledge, skills, and experiences as an administrator; to increase the understanding of the faculty about practices and procedures in academic administration; to extend and strengthen the administrative resources of the university; to assist in the development and implementation of projects in key areas; and to provide ongoing faculty involvement and input into the activities of the Provost's Office.
Ken join 5X社区 in 2004 as a First Year Experience Librarian and assistant professor in University Libraries. He was promoted to associate professor in 2010. Ken has served as Head of Instructional Services and most recently as Assistant Dean for Engagement and Outreach in University Libraries.
Ken has served on a number of important university committees, including the Joint Appeals Board, the President's Committee on Inclusion, the Kent Core Implementation Task Force, and multiple search committees. He has also been recognized for his leadership and scholarship at the national level. Most recently, he was awarded the 2014 Librarian Recognition Award by the American Library Association for his work with information literacy instruction and outreach.
Please join me in welcoming Ken to this new role.
Sincerely,
Todd A. Diacon, Ph.D.
