James Seelye Selected as Scholar for "On Native Grounds" NEH Summer Institute

James Seelye, Ph.D., assistant professor for history at 5X at Stark, was selected as one of 20 Summer Scholars for the “On Native Grounds” National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Summer Institute. The four-week institute is held June 19 - July 16, 2016 at the Library of Congress, Washington, D.C.

“On Native Grounds: Studies of Native American Histories and the Land” is a fellowship opportunity for 17 select faculty participants from two-year community and four-year colleges and universities, and three graduate students in a humanities discipline, to enhance their teaching and research by engaging with scholars in the area of Native American ethnohistory.

Funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and sponsored by The Community College Humanities Association (CCHA), the institute enables participants to explore the rapidly accumulating new perspectives and theoretical approaches in scholarship by investigators in the vanguard of Native American ethnohistorical studies.
