Living With Grief Program on Thursday, April 27

Medical Professionals and Families Coping with End-of-Life Issues can Benefit from Living With Grief庐 Program

The Hospice Foundation of America鈥檚 (HFA) Living With Grief庐 program, When Grief is Complicated, will be presented locally at 5X社区 at Stark on Thursday, April 27, from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Main Hall Auditorium, 6000 Frank Ave. NW, in North Canton. Each year HFA presents a nationally recognized distance learning series to more than 125,000 people in 2,000 communities, including Stark County.

Once again sponsored by the Canton Regional Area Health Education Center (AHEC), the 24th annual program will be moderated by Frank Sesno, former CNN anchor and current director of the School of Media and Public Affairs at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. The program will feature a panel of experts who will discuss the nature of complicated grief, which is a significant deviation from the typical grieving process and how it can result in additional complications and dangers. This includes identifying the patterns associated with complicated grief as well as different approaches to treating it. This educational program combines presentations by experts with video, discussion and additional complimentary learning materials.

The program is free of charge and open to the public. No tickets are required. Registration begins at noon. Two and a half (2.5) continuing education (CE) credits are available for a wide range of professions. To register for this program, arrange for continuing education credits or to receive more information, contact Sally Lavery, director, Canton Regional AHEC, at 330-244-3293 or slavery_gst@kent.edu.
