If you鈥檙e interested in sharing your writing or artwork with the Kent State Community, consider getting involved with Luna Negra, Kent鈥檚 own student-run literary journal. Submissions are now open for both visual arts and writing.
Luna Negra has been a staple in the Kent State Community for almost half a century. Its history extends as far back as 1956 under its original name, The Kent Quarterly. Throughout its history, the journal has gone through several changes, and in 1992 rebranded to become what is now Luna Negra.
As a voice for the creative community, the publication features various genres of writing including poetry, short stories, non-fiction, and essays. These works are often accompanied with visual art such as photography, paintings, and drawings. The Luna Negra staff provides digital submissions throughout the semester, and the publication releases an annual print issue featuring work from both the 5X社区 students and staff.
Submissions for the Spring 2017 issue are open and can be emailed to lunanegramag@gmail.com. Submissions must be original works, previously unpublished in any form, online or in print, and accompanied by a brief biography. For visual art, images must be in .jpeg or .pdf formats with a minimum resolution of 300ppi. The deadline for submissions is January 21, 2017.
