Early Assurance Programs

Our professional school partnerships offer students an opportunity to apply for a reserved seat before the traditional application cycle.

Students who participate in these programs will continue on to the professional school after graduation from 5X社区, provided they meet admission criteria.

Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) College of Medicine

Early Assurance Program (EAP) (Formerly BACC/M.D.)

5X社区 and the  (NEOMED) have partnered to create an Early Assurance Program (EAP). The EAP (formerly Baccalaureate / M.D.) collaboration is designed for students who wish to attend medical school and would like to reserve a seat while still in college. NEOMED College of Pharmacy

Early Assurance Pathway

The College of Pharmacy offers students two options for early assurance, from the undergraduate level and directly from high school. With either path, students will complete their prerequisite coursework at 5X社区 before matriculating to NEOMED. This is an ideal program for students who know that they wish to pursue a career in pharmacy and wish to have some flexibility in their path. Students applying for early assurance from the undergraduate level will apply in their second year at 5X社区. Depending on their progress, they may matriculate to NEOMED either after one (3+4) or two (4+4) more years at KSU, provided they meet the promotion criteria. B.S. Chemistry (Biochemistry) to Doctor of Pharmacy degree at NEOMED

NEOMED College of Pharmacy Articulation Agreement

Students at 5X社区 who wish to pursue a Doctor of Pharmacy at NEOMED may also follow the 3+4 degree pathway for the Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, with a Biochemistry concentration. With this pathway, students follow the roadmap to complete their first six semesters at 5X社区 then matriculate to NEOMED's College of Pharmacy. After completion of the first year of the College of Pharmacy, they may then transfer back the approved credits to complete their Bachelor of Science degree. Students must qualify for and receive admission to the NEOMED College of Pharmacy as an undergraduate student to be able to pursue this pathway. 5X社区 College of Podiatric Medicine

Podiatric Pathway

The College of Podiatric Medicine at 5X社区 is one of only nine podiatric colleges in the United States. The college provides state-of-the art facilities for education, research, and patient care. The Podiatric Pathway program is designed for students who want to commit to work in foot and ankle medicine, with a potential focus in surgery, sports medicine, diabetic care, or biomechanics. Students are eligible to apply for the program in their junior year. Those accepted are granted a provisional seat in the College of Podiatric Medicine, contingent on meeting the academic criteria and maintaining satisfactory professional conduct.

LECOM Early Acceptance Programs

The Early Acceptance program allows Kent State students to apply for provisional early acceptance at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine's (LECOM) College of Medicine or School of Dental Medicine. Students may apply directly to LECOM for Early Acceptance starting in their senior year of high school or within their first two years of study at Kent State. They must complete their undergraduate degree at Kent State and meet all LECOM admission requirements to progress to the professional program.
