Donations to support the teaching and research goals of the Department may be made through the 5X社区 Annual Fund.
The Chemistry Department uses Annual Fund contributions to support.
- Scholarships and Awards: Designated for student awards offered annually by the Department.
- Instructional Equipment: Designated towards the purchase of equipment for the academic instructional laboratories.
- Research Equipment: Designated for maintenance and improvement of the Department's shared research instrumentation.
You may designate your gift in Step 3 ("Designate Your Gift") by selecting "Let me decide where to designate my gift" and then selecting "Other" from the pull-down menu. Type "Chemistry - Scholarships," "Chemistry - Instructional," or "Chemistry - Research" in the blue field that appears below the word "Other."

Contributions to existing named scholarships may be made in the same way through the 5X社区 Foundation; be sure to specify "Chemistry" and the name of the scholarship on your contribution.

Debbie Fu-Tai Tuan Graduate Scholarship in Physical Chemistry | Awarded to an incoming graduate student for the study of physical chemistry. |
To establish an endowed scholarship in your name or named for a loved one, please contact Katie Buzard at kbuzard@kent.edu or 330-672-1439 or David Grober at dgrober@kent.edu or 330-672-5297. Gifts can be outright or deferred (made through your estate plans) and funds can be established for any purpose designated by you, the donor. In addition, pledges can be paid over a five-year period. Donors may also work with the Foundation and the Department to designate gifts for other purposes.
