- There is no minimum GPA requirement for new freshmen students, but current Kent State Salem students and transfer students must have a 2.00 cumulative GPA. Early admission students are not eligible for this grant.
*Starting Fall 2024
New 2024 High School Graduates will be automatically awarded $500.00 for the Fall; for future terms, award amounts will be based on Application Guidelines and Award Guidelines.
Award guidelines:
Salem Courses Cost x 20% = Max Amount
Salem Courses Cost - Financial Aid (scholarships, grants) = Remainder Balance
*If aid received is more than the cost of Salem courses, the student will be denied based on need.
Students will receive the maximum amount based on the percentage or the remainder balance amount, whichever is the lesser amount allowed.
Students will have to have a Profile set up in Scholarship Universe before awarding.
If approved, you will receive further instructions via Kent State email, on accepting the award and completing your Thank-You Letter through Scholarship Universe.
