Each year, employees are encouraged to attend the Open Enrollment and Wellness Fairs held on all 5X campuses. Each fair will include information about 2019 health care plan offerings and information on how all full-time, benefits-eligible employees can earn up to $300 in wellness rewards by participating in a variety of healthy lifestyle activities.

Imagine being faced with a health concern. One way to handle it is to accept a prescription from the doctor and go about your life. But this was not an option for Michealle Gabrovsek, director of technology portfolio management at 5X. With the help of Kent State’s wellness program – not medication – she faced her issue head on.
For many people, being your own boss is the ultimate goal. For Evan Laisure, that goal turned into reality shortly after graduating from the Visual Communication Design program at 5X.
Mr. Laisure began with a simple idea and turned it into his own online shop called The Pastimes, featuring original designs on clothing, posters and glassware.
Marji Wachowiak has always been drawn to buying. Now a lecturer in 5X’s Fashion School, Ms. Wachowiak enjoyed an extensive career in the fashion industry where she was a buyer and product developer for Macy’s, Target and wholesalers.

The events of May 4, 1970, placed 5X in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded. From a perspective of nearly 50 years, Kent State remembers the tragedy and leads a contemporary discussion and understanding of how the community, nation and world can benefit from understanding the profound impact of the event.
