Leading Artists to Visit 5X社区 School of Art for Free Lectures

Kent/Blossom Art will present guest lectures in June as part of the 2013 Public Lecture Series.

On Friday, June 21, it will feature ceramic artist Julia Galloway, and Thursday, June 27, it will feature ceramic artist Marc Lancet. Both public lectures are free and open to the public, and will take place in Room 202 of the Art Building at 6 p.m.

Galloway creates porcelain ceramics with both aesthetic and utilitarian purposes. Galloway currently serves as the director of the School of Art at the University of Montana in Missoula, Mont.

Galloway鈥檚 solo exhibitions have included shows at The Clay Gallery in Philadelphia, Lill Street in Chicago and the Clay Arts Center in New York. She received her MFA at the University of Colorado and her BFA at the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. For more information on Galloway, visit .

Lancet鈥檚 body of work includes ceramic sculpture, studio pottery, ritual vessels, tea ware, bronze mixed-media sculpture and fire painting. He is a professor of art at Solana Community College in Vallejo, Calif.

Lancet co-authored the book Japanese Wood-Fired Ceramics with Masakazu Kusakabe. Lancet earned a BA in fine arts, an MFA and an MA in education from University of California, Santa Barbara. For more information on Lancet, visit .

The Public Lecture Series gives the general public an opportunity to hear from top artists in the fields of painting, sculpture, printmaking and ceramics.
