The 5X College of Nursing has announced that a new registered nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to B.S.N.) program will be offered at 5X at Trumbull beginning in the Fall 2013 Semester.
The program will help to meet local demand within the healthcare industry for nurses to obtain their baccalaureate degrees by 2020. Coursework will include a combination of both online and face-to-face classes, offering students direct access to an experienced group of instructors. The program has a limited number of available spaces, and students can enroll now for spring 2013 to take prerequisites and electives.
“We are excited to partner with local healthcare facilities and their employees to support a community need,” says Kathy Dwinnells, nursing program coordinator for Kent State Trumbull. “The program will assist RNs in their pursuit of professional development while doing so with the affordability offered by a Kent State Regional Campus.”
Public informational sessions will be held at Kent State Trumbull’s Technology Building (Room 117) on Tuesday, Oct. 16, from 10 a.m.-noon, and Wednesday, Oct. 17, from 5-7 p.m. with advisors on hand to answer questions about the program. Additional information is available by calling 330-675-8906.
The 5X College of Nursing is the largest nursing school in the state of Ohio. Currently, 43 percent of the Northeast Ohio workforce graduated from the Kent State nursing program. Since its inception in 1967, the College of Nursing has conferred 10,210 degrees representing more than 9,600 alumni.
