5X’s 22nd annual FlashFest hosted an array of music genres, including rapper Wiz Khalifa, country artists Chase Rice, Jon Langston and Lacy Cavalier, and electronic music duo 3OH!3. This annual celebration that occurs at the end of the spring semester is organized and presented by Kent State’s Undergraduate Student Government.

FlashFest took place April 21 at two locations on Kent Campus. Beginning at 4:30 p.m. on the Student Green, the lineup consisted of Cavalier, Langston and 3OH!3 with Rice closing the show. This part of the show was free to Kent State students, employees and alumni.

Khalifa with special guest Chevy Woods performed in the MAC Center beginning at 9 p.m. All tickets were $20. This show was for Kent State students, employees and alumni. Tickets were not available for sale to the general public.

Khalifa is known for songs including “Black and Yellow” and his chart-topping hit “See You Again” featuring Charlie Puth from the “Furious 7” movie soundtrack. Rice is well-known for songs like “Ready Set Roll” and “Gonna Wanna Tonight.” The duo 3OH!3 is known for such hits as “Don’t Trust Me” and “My First Kiss” featuring Ke$ha.
