5X����

Kent Interhall Council (KIC) is the student government of the residence halls on 5X����'s Kent Campus. KIC was founded on September 1, 1969. Our mission is to promote a positive living and learning atmosphere, as well as student leadership opportunities, within the halls. KIC provides student advocacy, funding and programming within the University Housing at 5X����.

  • Check-In - Fall Down the Rabbit Hole: Tri Towers Rotunda - 4:00pm - 7:00pm
    • Begin your Sibs N’ Wonderland adventure by checking in at the Tri-Towers Rotunda! Collect your event materials, meet your fellow travelers, and prepare to step into the magic of Wonderland.
  • Sibs Wonderland Bash: Kent Student Center Ballroom - 7:00pm - 9:00pm
    • Step into the whimsical world of Wonderland! Play carnival-style games, win curious prizes, grab delightful snacks, and capture the moment at our photo booth. KSU’s hall councils have prepared interactive booths and surprises—so come ready for an evening of adventure!
  • Cheshire Cat Floating Cinema: 5X���� Warren Student Recreation & Wellness Center Swimming Pool - 8:00pm-10:00pm
    • The Cheshire Cat invites you to an enchanting dive-in movie experience! Watch Alice in Wonderland while floating in the Rec Center pool under glowing lights. Pool floats provided—first come, first served! Don’t forget your swimsuit!
  • Off With Their Notes: Karaoke Night: Kent Student Center Rathskeller - 8:00pm-10:00pm
    • Time to sing your heart out in true Wonderland fashion! Whether you belt out a ballad or duet like Tweedledee and Tweedledum, this karaoke night is all about fun, laughter, and unforgettable performances

    • Did you fall asleep like the Dormouse and miss check-in? No worries! You can still register and receive your event materials at Tri Towers.
  • Climb Through the Looking Glass: 5X���� Warren Student Recreation & Wellness Center - 10:00am - 12:00pm
    • Think you have what it takes to scale Wonderland’s cliffs? Test your strength and agility on the Rec Center rock wall and see if you can climb to new heights!
  • Mad Hatter's Carnival: Tri Towers Rotunda - 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
    • The Mad Hatter has thrown a wacky carnival, and you’re invited! Play exciting games, win fantastic prizes, and get a Wonderland-style makeover from our face painters, henna artists, and caricature artists! A morning of madness and merriment awaits!
  • Haymaker Farmers' Market: UU Church, Hobbs Hall, 217 N. Mantua St. Kent, OH - 10:00am - 1:00 pm
    • Take a break from Wonderland to explore the local magic! Enjoy fresh produce, homemade treats, unique crafts, and artisan goods at Kent’s beloved farmers’ market.

  • Pool of Tears: A Wonderland Swim: 5X���� Warren Student Recreation & Wellness Center Swimming Pool - 12:00pm - 3:00pm
    • Feeling like Alice floating through Wonderland? Enjoy a relaxing open swim at the Rec Center pool—a free and fun way to unwind before the weekend ends. KSU students and guest welcome!
  • Enchanted Plush Party: Twin Towers Studio A - 12:00pm - 2:00pm
    • Create your very own Wonderland plush companion! Join Kent Interhall Council for a special stuff-a-plush event, featuring adorable Wonderland-themed stuffed animals that you can customize and take home.
  • The Wonderland Express: All Day 
    • Hop aboard The Wonderland Express (PARTA Bus) and take a magical ride to Acorn Alley! Enjoy shopping, dining, and exploring downtown Kent before saying goodbye to Sibs Weekend.

• What is Sibs Weekend

  • Sibs Weekend is a weekend-long program where on- (and off-) campus residents are invited to register their siblings for a weekend of exciting programs throughout the campus community. This weekend is hosted by Kent Interhall Council, the governing body of all on-campus students, and brought to you by many Kent State and Kent community partners. This year, we’ll spiral into “Sibs In Wonderland.”

• When is Sibs Weekend 2025?

  • This year, Sibs Weekend 2025 will take place during the weekend of March 28th - 30th, 2025.

• How do I register for Sibs & Kids Weekend?

• How much does Sibs Weekend cost?

  • Participating in Sibs Weekend events is 100% free! We will provide snacks and refreshments during some of our events, but you will need to get meals on your own. Our dining locations will be open as well as various restaurants downtown.

• If I PRE-ORDERED a shirt when/where can I pick it up?

  • Shirts are available for pickup at check-in upon arrival to Sibs Weekend!

• Can you purchase shirts during Sibs Weekend 2025?

  • Yes! Shirts will be available at all KIC-hosted events during Sibs Weekend; however, they will be sold at an increased price and be available in limited quantities.

• What is the Hold Harmless Form and why is it important?

  • The Hold Harmless Form is a waiver that is required to be filled out and signed in order to participate in the activities that we have planned for the weekend. Each registered participant must have one signed and on file with us. If your sibling/kid is under the age of 18, the form MUST be signed by a parent or guardian PRIOR TO OR AT check-in on Friday, March 28th, 2025.

• Is it a requirement to live in a Kent State residence hall in order to participate?

  • No! You can register for Sibs Weekend if you live off-campus.

• Is there a cutoff age for Sibs Weekend?

  • No! Anyone is welcome to register and attend. Sibs Weekend is for all ages and there will be events for a wide range of age groups.

• What kind of events will take place during Sibs Weekend 2025?

• Can siblings/kids stay in the Kent State students’ on-campus residence hall during Sibs Weekend 2025?

  • Yes! On the registration form, we ask that you identify your hall and room number as this allows us to know where the sibling/kid will be staying while on campus. We also mark this information down on a bracelet that your sibling/kid will be required to wear for the duration of Sibs Weekend 2025.
