JMC Promising Scholars and the donors who fund their scholarships invested in their 鈥渟ocial capital鈥 on Thursday, October 1, 2015 during a donor/recipient reception at Laziza Restaurant in Kent.

The Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) Magazine Division recognized two Kent State student publications for excellence in magazine writing and design. Of the more than 200 entries, The Burr and Fusion earned four awards in the competition.

Bob West passed away on the morning of June 20, 2015. He recently celebrated his 89th birthday, where he was surrounded by friends and family.
JMC students shined in the student media section at The Press Club of Cleveland鈥檚 All-Ohio Excellence in Journalism Awards, with four first-place awards and one second-place finish in both the print and TV categories.
