 For Haider Riaz, the first orchestra concert of the season was an unforgettable experience. Inside 5X����'s Herrick Conservatory, behind Cunningham Hall, lurks the Great Pumpkin of Kent State.  It's an annual contest sponsored by the conservatory, Melissa Davis, director of horticultural facilities, and students from the Department of Biological Sciences, in which people are invited to guess the weight of an enormous pumpkin. "It's a fun way to get people interested in gardening and plants," Davis said. Since the pandemic a few years ago, the Undergraduate Student Government group was somewhat inactive on the East Liverpool Campus, but it’s been reenergized by a group of interested students.The group has hosted luncheons over the past few weeks and is busy planning a slate of activities for the remainder of the semester, including a game/movie night; a student newsletter; and luncheons. The group also hopes to create a game room in Purinton Hall and to organize pickle ball teams.
