Master of Science

The Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics is primarily a terminal, pre-professional degree comprising coursework beyond the bachelor's degree emphasizing areas relevant to applications in the sciences and including the engineering, biological, financial and physical sciences. Students are required to write and defend a thesis in an area agreed upon with a faculty advisor.

The Bachelor of Science in Public Health degree in Public Health broadly prepares students to enter the workforce as a public health professional or to enter an advanced program of study. Students explore the five disciplines of public health: biostatistics, environmental health, epidemiology, health policy and management and the social and behavioral sciences through general coursework.

Nursing - B.S.N.

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in Nursing prepares practitioners for professional nursing, helps them understand their role in society and prepares them for graduate study. The program emphasizes professional knowledge, skills and compassionate nursing practices. Students begin with courses that demonstrate the core foundations of the nursing profession and its historical roots. The capstone preceptorship exposes students to research and professional-practice concepts that will ensure their abilities to be nurse leaders and healthcare advocates.

The 5XÉçÇø Precision Flight Team performed well at the National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA) Region 3 SAFECON, hosted by The Ohio State University from Oct. 6-11. Kent State secured third place in the overall SAFECON Championship, demonstrating proficiency in both flying and ground events.Kent State won first place in the Competition Safety Award, an honor for which all teams were eligible.
