College Skate Night

College Late Night Skates are Wednesday nights at the KSU Ice Arena for Kent State college students with a current college ID. Guests may accompany a KSU college student, but must be 18 years of age or older and have an ID.
Cost is $5 (includes skate rental)
No cash payments at the Skate Rental and Concession counters.
CREDIT/DEBIT CARD PAYMENT ONLY (Visa, MC, Discover)
Guests must be accompanied by a current KSU Student.
College Skate Night admission sales will begin 30-minutes prior to the session start time.

Wellness Wednesday

Free weekly event for students every Wednesday during the academic year providing wellness education, interactive activities, and giveaways. Participants do not need to be present the entire time.
Dates & Times:
Wednesdays, Jan. 15 - Apr. 30 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
(No program Mar. 12 Spring Break)

Double Down Tuesdays Glow Spin Series

This is your chance to test your mental and physical endurance. We invite you to stay after the 7:30 Glow Spin class to log some extra time. The first ride will be 30 minutes long and will get progressively longer each month.

Date & Time: Tuesday from 8:15 - 9:15 p.m.
Cost: A minimum of 1 donation item is required for entry! Bring a food or personal hygiene donation to receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win prizes at the end of the semester! Also a minimum of 1 donation item is required for entry.

Yoga Glow Workshop

Come shine with us! You will start with learning to mix and pour your own uniquely scented candle. While those are cooling, you will be led through a relaxing multilevel yoga class.

Date & Time: Tuesday, Mar. 4 from 5:45 - 7 p.m.
Cost: Student $10, Member $15, Non-member $20

Introduction to Climbing and Belaying Clinic

This two-and-a-half hour program covers the basics of indoor climbing including equipment, bouldering, top rope climbing, and belaying with an ATC and Gri-gri device. This program sets up an individual with no prior experience to take our belay test which is required when purchasing a climbing wall membership. Contact adventurecenter@kent.edu with any questions.

Location: SRWC Climbing Wall

The Power of Rhythm in Spinning (Mad Dogg Spinning CEC Workshop)

Rhythm riding and power training are often considered to be opposite styles of indoor cycling. But they can actually exist in the same class! This course reveals they are like yin and yang. They are incomplete apart but perfect together. Let’s explore how riding to the beat of the music and matching movement to rhythm and refrain can enhance the Spinning® experience. This course will break down the walls between rhythm and power and demonstrate how to use all tools seamlessly to create rides with the perfect balance of music and metrics.

Stage Presence for Spinning Instructors (Mad Dogg Spinning CEC Workshop)

Utilizing bodyweight as a strength tool is effective and appropriate for all Your stage presence as a Spinning® instructor is what creates that indescribable wow factor during class and beyond. This course is packed with tips and tricks to elevate your skills so that your personal stage presence announces your confidence and experience and wins over the crowd every time. We will explore highly effective concepts you’ve never considered bringing into your class to create a genuine and successful stage presence through energy, charisma, appearance and first impressions.
