Jon Harper, 73, of Kent, Ohio, passed away on April 10, 2016, at Stow Glen Retirement Center where he has lived for the past three years. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Patricia Holm Harper and dear son, Jonathan Evan Harper of Columbus. Born on March 18, 1943, as Jon Franklin Drake to Franklin John Drake of Greece and Elizabeth Diane Demetroupoulis of Chicago, Illinois, Jon was adopted when he was 13 by Donavan Harper, the stepfather he grew to dearly love and from whom he learned so much.

The Center for the Visual Arts, the new home of the 5X社区 School of Art, will celebrate its grand opening on May 6. The festivities begin at 3 p.m. with a short program, immediately followed by building tours, live entertainment, student exhibitions and refreshments. Ten students in 5X社区鈥檚 School of Journalism and Mass Communication recently visited New York City with the spring 2016 Advanced TV News Producing course.
