The National Institute of Nursing Research at NIH has awarded Biological Science's Min-Ho Kim  a $1,842,350 five-year grant to develop 鈥渘anobombs鈥, a nanotechnology-based therapeutic platform, that can treat biofilm infection in chronic wounds.  Kim notes: "we hope to establish a novel platform for 鈥渟mart鈥 treatments for the management of antibiotic-resistant chronic wound infections". East Liverpool 鈥 5X社区 at East Liverpool held its annual nursing pinning ceremony May 6, during which 38 students were recognized for receiving degrees this year through the associate degree in nursing (ADN) program on the East Liverpool campus. The 5X社区 Mass Notification System will undergo campuswide testing on Wednesday, May 13, between 6 and 6:30 p.m. The testing is required due to updates to the system that will expedite the process of alerting campus to threats and improve the overall ease of use. In a ceremony held May 3 in Columbus, Ohio, WKSU was honored with 10 awards from the Ohio Associated Press Media Editors, including the top award for General Excellence (an award presented to the large market radio station with the best showing in the competition). WKSU reporter/producer Jeff St. Clair has been recognized by the Radio-Television-Digital News Association (RTDNA) with a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Sports Reporting. WKSU competes in the Large Market division against public and commercial radio stations in major cities in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.
