  1. Policy statement. The vice president for human resources is responsible for the development, implementation, and enforcement of the employment policies and practices at Kent state university, as delegated by the president. The vice president may delegate to the appropriate staff the authority to assist in the execution of these responsibilities.
  2. Employee code of conduct. Every employee of Kent state university is required to comply with the policies and guidelines established for employees, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws.

  1. Purpose.
    1. Preparedness to cope with the effects of a disaster includes many diverse but interrelated elements, which must be woven into an integrated emergency management system involving all departments of the university, other public and support agencies, plus the individual citizen.
    2. The emergency management plan is a statement of policy and procedures regarding emergency management and assigns tasks and responsibilities to university officials specifying, and in some cases, redefining their roles during emergency or disaster situations.

University policy regarding delegation of authority to close the university

Policy statement. In emergency circumstances and after declaration of a state of emergency as authorized by House Bill 1219 of the 108th General Assembly, the president of the university may suspend all or part of the university operations. Such suspension may exceed four days only upon authorization of the board or, if a quorum cannot be consulted, the chairperson thereof.

  1. Contracts and agreements including lease agreements negotiated on behalf of the university must be authorized by the president, a vice president or the board.
  2. Any person intending to enter into an agreement which will or may bind the university, any of its subparts, or any of its auxiliaries must obtain prior authorization from the president, a vice president or collective action by the board.

University policy regarding archives

Policy statement. Recognizing the importance of preserving materials documenting the history of the university, the university archives is designated as the official repository for such items. The university archives has two reasons for its existence, one practical and the other historical. The practical reason is that the university archives provides a safe, central repository for records that are no longer of immediate use to the office or organization that created them.
