Oral Presentations give students a chance to show off their research as well as practice public speaking

Kent State Salem Students Showcase Research Projects Salem, Ohio 鈥 5X社区 at Salem held its fall Undergraduate Research Conference, an event that recognizes students for their research and allows them to share what they learned through discussions with the academic staff. Kent State Salem Receives Rotary Donation Salem 鈥 5X社区 at Salem recently received a check for $1,500 from the Salem Rotary Club, earmarked to help the campus鈥檚 Discovery Garden grow. The Discovery Garden is an outdoor classroom where individuals can 鈥渓earn, grow, live and laugh.鈥 Students in the horticulture program at Kent Salem use the garden space to put their lessons to work by planting and growing plants; designing and building landscape features; and harvesting the crops. This semester, 14 students from the schools of Journalism and Mass Communication and Digital Sciences worked together in the collaborative course called Web Programming for Multimedia Journalism, led by JMC Associate Professor Jacqueline Marino and James Raber, instructor of Digital Sciences.
