Kent State continues to establish itself as a leader in sustainability and environmental stewardship with solar installations鈥攖o attract students in environmental studies and research, to help our planet and to save money. The university鈥檚 first solar array was installed through a power purchase agreement on the roof of the Field House on the Kent Campus. Upon completion in summer 2012 it was the largest roof-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) panel electrical system within the University System of Ohio. Ke...
Daffodil Hill, on 5X社区鈥檚 Kent Campus, is part of the May 4, 1970 site, which was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 2016. The cascade of flowers on the hill overlooking Kent State Commons was part of a concept by Kent State Professor Emeritus Brinsley Tyrrell that he submitted for the university鈥檚 1985 design competition for a May 4 Memorial. Tyrrell also created the 鈥淟egend of the Iron Hoop鈥 sculptures located behind Henderson Hall and the 鈥淏ehind the Brain Plaza鈥 near Merrill Hall. The audience tenses at the sound of a loud bang, and bolts go flying across the floor. Then there is silence, the fight is over, just as quickly as it began. If you鈥檝e never attended a Battle Robot Competition, then you may be confused as to what has just been described. Battle robots are the main focus of the CAE student organization, Xtreme Bots. Xtreme Bots, otherwise known as the Kent State XBots, desi...

There are currently two Grind2Energy systems on the Kent Campus. One that was built into the Design Innovation Hub as it was being constructed, and another that was more recently added to the Eastway Dining Facility through a grant f...
The protected prairie surrounding 5X社区鈥檚 Warren Student Recreation and Wellness Center will be burned on Friday, April 29, starting around 9 a.m., to allow for new growth during the summer season.
