Strittmatter is known for attending athletic events hosted at Kent State and for her loud, encouraging nature. As everyone who knows her says, 鈥淵ou hear her before you see her.鈥
Her dedication to Kent State athletics has even earned her the title of Super Fan over the many years. recently reported on the renovation project for the Memorial Athletic and Convocation (MAC) Center, for which Kent State is currently in the process of fundraising. The renovations will include updates to the locker rooms, sound and lighting, and other aspects of the MAC Center. The most notable upgrade, however, will be adding a commemorative tag to the spot where Strittmatter stands and cheers at every game in the MAC Center.
The goal is to dedicate the commemorative spot, which is already designed, for Strittmatter鈥檚 50th birthday at the beginning of the next athletic season.
As Randale L. Richmond, Kent State鈥檚 vice president and director of intercollegiate athletics, told News 5 Cleveland, 鈥淪he鈥檚 dedicated more than anybody else to supporting these teams. It doesn鈥檛 matter the weather, it doesn鈥檛 matter the time, it doesn鈥檛 matter the sport. She loves them all the same, and she cares all the same.鈥
