Global Management Center

Fellow Colleagues, Students and Global Researchers:

Through the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship's Global Management Center, we support international initiatives of the University and prepare students for success in global business. The center provides students with the opportunity to learn from international speakers, study abroad and support faculty research internationally. We are committed to increasing awareness of the global business environment, providing innovative learning experiences and preparing students to compete in global business.

The mission of the Global Management Center was built upon these goals:

  • Engage with the world beyond our campuses.
  • Increase awareness and understanding of the new challenges, opportunities, and concerns in global affairs.
  • Provide innovative learning experiences for students.
  • Prepare students to perform successfully in a globally competitive work environment.
  • Provide a practical perspective to the integrated study of business, culture, and communication.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with local, regional, and international partners in education and business to encourage multi-disciplinary scholarly research, teaching, and practice.

International Speaker's Bureau

The International Speaker鈥檚 Bureau gives students access to managers with backgrounds in a specific area of interest. For example, the CEO of a holding company active in a number of markets in Asia recently discussed corporate governance with students enrolled in a course on global business strategy.

The GMC International Speaker鈥檚 Bureau accomplishes its mission by networking within the business community to find experts in a particular topic when a request is received from a member of our faculty. Additionally, the Bureau tries to find speaking opportunities for business leaders interested in coming to campus to help prepare our students for the challenges they will encounter in the global economy upon graduation. If you would like to join us in this effort, please contact GMC Director, Ilgaz Arikan.

Partnerships

GMC works with select business development organizations in Northeast Ohio to further mutual commercial and educational interests. Each semester GMC and its partners sponsor a speaker bureau and series that brings business leaders to campus to discuss with students and area managers the new challenges U.S. firms face in the global economy. In addition, GMC s offers internships through its partnerships to its students that help Northeast Ohio firms compete in foreign markets.

Business development organizations and firms interested in working with GMC to further the global impact of Northeast Ohio are invited to join with its partners, the Northeast Ohio Trade and Economic Consortium and U.S. Foreign and Commercial Services.

NORTHEAST OHIO ECONOMIC AND TRADE CONSORTIUM (NEOTEC)
