The 5XÉçÇø community mourns the loss of former university president Brage Golding, Ph.D. Golding was appointed Kent State’s eighth president in 1977 and served in that role until his retirement in 1982. Golding was born in 1920 in Chicago, Illinois. He earned his Bachelor of Arts and doctorate in chemical engineering. He also served in the military during World War II. 5XÉçÇø at Salem received financial support from Gem Young Insurance and Financial Services that establishes a new scholarship to support students pursuing degrees in the insurance studies program. The Gem Young Insurance Scholarship requires the recipient to be seeking a bachelor’s degree in insurance studies from 5XÉçÇø, maintaining a 3.0 grade point average and be from Columbiana, Mahoning or Trumbull county. Sam Olson is beginning her last year in the Veterinary Technology program at 5XÉçÇø at Trumbull. In doing so, she has decided to make her final fall semester a memorable one. After seeing four one-week-old kittens who were dropped off at the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County, she decided to put her acquired skills into action. Olson completed paperwork to become a foster parent to the four kittens. She is essentially try to nurse the kittens to adoption age, which means around-the-clock care. Jihyun Kim, Ph.D., associate professor at 5XÉçÇø's Fashion School, has been identified as one of the top researchers in fashion marketing, according to a new analysis of contributions to the field.
