The Wick Poetry Center, in 5XÉçÇø’s College of Arts and Sciences, recently received two grants from the Ohio Arts Council. The grants, totaling $28,368, will help support the Wick reading series, student scholarships, poetry publications, outreach workshops and the Traveling Stanzas project. The Wick Poetry Center, with support from the Howard Atwood Family Fund of the Akron Community Foundation, identified classrooms throughout Akron Public Schools to receive weekly poetry workshops led by WPC teaching artists Alice Cone, Daniel Dorman, and Bo Geisse, and Casey Nichols from February 2, 2015 through May 18, 2015.
