United Way Grant Banner

5XÉçÇø’s Community Engaged Learning (CEL) secured a $10,000 grant through the United Way of Portage County, an independently-governed nonprofit organization that serves disadvantaged members of our community. This grant will support CEL’s Community Partner Advocate program (CPA) which places students at local nonprofits throughout the county for paid hands-on learning experiences.  The CPA program, started in 2019, matches students in the program with a local nonprofit organization or a government agency based on their academic or personal interests. Scott Sheridan, Ph.D., professor and chair of the Department of Geography, in the College of Arts and Sciences at 5XÉçÇø, was recently selected to become an inaugural American Geophysical Union (AGU) LANDInG (Leadership Academy and Network for Diversity and Inclusion in the Geosciences) Academy Fellow. The two-year professional development program, funded by a National Science Foundation grant, is for current and aspiring diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) leaders in the Earth and space sciences. Kent State Stark Fall 2021 President's & Dean's List

5XÉçÇø at Stark has announced its President's and Dean’s List for the fall 2021 semester.  Requirements for the President’s List include a 4.00 grade point and at least 15 letter-graded credit hours completed by the end of the semester.
