Lala Hajibayova, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, was elected to serve as a member of the 5X社区 Citation and Recognition Committee in the 2016-2019 academic year.

Peggy Nzomo, University Libraries, is the 2016 recipient of the American Library Association (ALA) International Relations Committee鈥檚 鈥淏ogle-Pratt International Library Travel Fund.鈥 She received this award at the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) World Library and Information Congress held Aug. 13-19 in Columbus, Ohio. 

Rebecca Meehan, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, presented a poster titled 鈥淐onsiderations of Health Information Exchange Use for Long Term Care Participation in Accountable Care Organizations,鈥 at the American Health and Information Management Association LTPAC Summit, in Reston, Virginia, in June 2016.

Mamoun Alzoubi, Department of English, presented a paper, 鈥淩ichard Wright and Transnationalism: A Reading of Pagan Spain,鈥 at the American Literature Association Annual Conference, May 26-29, 2016, in San Francisco, California.

Jennifer O鈥機onnell and Stephanie Orwick, both from the Office of Sexual and Relationship Violence Support Services, along with Alicia Robinson, Women鈥檚 Center, gave a presentation at the ATIXA/SCOPE Joint National Conference on Oct. 6, 2016, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 

Alicia Robinson, Women鈥檚 Center, facilitated a workshop called 鈥淟ighting a Legacy: Gaining the Tools to Light the Flame in the Next Generation of Young Girls鈥 at the Black Women and Girls Symposium: Producers of Knowledge and Agents of Change on Sept. 9, 2016, in Providence, Rhode Island.

Yosh Hakutani, Department of English, presented 鈥淩ichard Wright鈥檚 Achievement of Solace, Eastern Poetics, and African Philosophy鈥 at the College Language Association Annual Convention on April 6-9, 2016, in Houston, Texas. 

Yosh Hakutani, Department of English, organized and chaired a session, 鈥淭he Chicago Renaissance: The Postmodern and Postcolonial Development,鈥 at the American Literature Association Conference on May 26-29, 2016, in San Francisco, California.

Paul Sherman, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, delivered a presentation titled 鈥淯ser Onboarding: Patterns and Anti-Patterns Explored鈥 at the June 23 UXPA Cleveland meeting.

Emad Khazraee, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, delivered a lecture titled "Basic Concepts from Actor-Network Theory and Controversy Mapping" in a workshop introducing sociotechnical theories at the iConference in Philadelphia in March 2016.
