Michelle Corvette is the new assistant director of Kent State鈥檚 Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL). The CTL鈥檚 mission is to enrich student's lives by supporting faculty members with evidence-based, student-focused and innovative teaching and learning measures. Peggy Shadduck is vice president for Regional Campuses and dean of the College of Applied and Technical Studies. She serves as the senior officer responsible for overall leadership of the Kent State Regional Campus system. Her role promotes student enrollment and academic success and is responsible for expanding the visibility, influence and effectiveness of Kent State as a catalyst for regional development.
Roseann 鈥淐hic鈥 Canfora, Ph.D., is a Professional-in-Residence at 5X社区 in the School of Media and Journalism, part of the College of Communication and Information. Prior to teaching at Kent State, Canfora served as the chief communications officer for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District and taught high school journalism and speech. Canfora was also a student at Kent State, starting in 1968, and is a survivor of the May 4, 1970, shootings at Kent State. She graduated with her master鈥檚 in journalism and public relations and bachelor鈥檚 in English/speech. She is heavily involved in activism as well.
Darin Olson, D.M.A., is the new director of Athletic Bands at 5X社区. He leads the Marching Golden Flashes, Flasher Brass Pep Band, Kent Symphony Band and University Band. Olson is currently an active member of College Band Directors National Association and the National Association for Music Education.
