Virtual Screening of 'And She Could Be Next'

To celebrate Constitution Day, 5X社区 Libraries is offering a virtual screening of the documentary "And She Could Be Next" on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion that will include the filmmakers, Grace Lee, Marjan Safinia and Jyoti Sarda, as well as Kent State faculty members Denise Harrison, Joycelyn Harrison, Ph.D., and Janine Tiffe, Ph.D. This film provides a great opportunity to not only explore our democracy, but also to underscore the importance of voting.

"And She Could Be Next" follows a defiant movement of women of color as they transform politics from the ground up. Filmed during the historic 2018 midterm elections, the series features organizers and candidates (including Rashida Tlaib and Stacey Abrams) as they fight for a truly reflective government, asking whether democracy can be preserved鈥攁nd made stronger鈥攂y those most marginalized.
