An accomplished doctor and academic, a highly regarded colleague and educator, the June 2016 Scholar of the Month is Dr. Lawrence Osher of 5XÉçÇø’s College of Podiatric Medicine, a decision made unanimously among the college’s leadership.
5XÉçÇø’s tradition of athletic success was on full display in early June, earning a national player of the year, a national assistant coach of the year and an honor for excellence throughout its 10 women’s sports.
5XÉçÇø celebrated the grand opening of its new Center for Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement, located at 350 S. Lincoln St. in Kent, Ohio, on June 3. The event, was free and open to the public.
Kent State Athletes Shatter Record for Highest GPA in Program History
The 2016 5XÉçÇø Golden Flashes have shattered the record for the highest annual grade point average (GPA) in program history. They also broke the record for the most students with a perfect 4.0.
5XÉçÇø freshman Josh Paulin is not only a good student, but an exemplary citizen.
On March 13, 2016, Paulin saved a man’s life, and now Kent State’s Department of Public Safety is honoring Paulin for his heroic acts.
