If you’re studying abroad, you can still participate in U.S. elections by requesting an overseas ballot. The deadlines for voting while abroad vary by the state where you’re registered.
For students registered in Ohio, here’s what you need to know:
To allow for as many students as possible to learn about the voting process, including registering to vote and the options they have to complete and submit ballots, we are offering a form that allows any student organization, course instructor, or program advisor/facilitator to request an informational presentation by either one or multiple members of the Kent State Votes coalition OR a voter information table.

Precinct Election Officials are hired by Ohio county Boards of Election to ensure that elections are run fairly and impartially and conducted according to Ohio law; with Kent State being located in Portage County, we provide our university community with information on how to become a Precinct Election Official here
A stipend-based student leader position hired by Campus Vote Project and placed with the Community Engaged Learning office focused on voting and political engagement; Campus Vote Project hires two students during each election year (e.g., Spring and Fall 2024).
