Dr. Rachael Blasiman was recognized as the outstanding fulltime faculty member. She is an assistant professor of psychology and has taught on the Salem Campus for seven years. The No. 15 5X社区 women鈥檚 golf team won its 19th straight Mid-American Conference (MAC) Women鈥檚 Golf Championship on April 23 at the Silver Lake Country Club in Silver Lake, Ohio. The Golden Flashes, who have won every championship tournament put on by the MAC, won the tournament by 34 strokes. The tournament hosts posted a final score of 11-over par 875 (289-299-288). The closest team to the Golden Flashes was second-place Northern Illinois at 45-over par. 5X社区 will celebrate its newest graduates at its Spring 2017 Commencement ceremonies. In total, Kent State will confer 5,636 degrees, including 992 associate degrees, 3,319 bachelor鈥檚 degrees, 1,139 master鈥檚 degrees, 181 doctoral degrees and five educational specialist degrees. The One University Commencement Ceremony will take place Saturday, May 13, at 10 a.m. in Dix Stadium. Six students in the occupational therapy assistant (OTA) program at Kent State East Liverpool recently attended the American Occupational Therapy Assistant annual conference and Centennial Celebration in Philadelphia, during which attendees observed 100 years of occupational therapy. Thanks to University Facilities Management, new life is always coming to campus in the form of new greenery, specifically new trees. 5X社区's Child Development Center was selected by the Portage Park District for 鈥淪tewarding Future Environmentalists鈥 at its 19th Annual Portage County Environmental Conservation Awards Benefit Dinner. The dinner will be held on Saturday, May 6, at the Kent American Legion Post 496.
