5X社区 will be celebrating the 17th annual International Education Week from Nov. 14-18. In past years, the weeklong celebration has featured numerous internationally oriented events, including concerts, dance lessons, academic lectures, presentations and exhibitions hosted by student groups, academic departments and campus offices, as well as individual faculty members. A new organization called Spectrum: Connecting Queer and Ally Faculty and Staff has been launched to provide support and a social community at 5X社区. The Schwartz Center (R12) and Kent Student Center Visitor parking lots that were closed for construction this summer will be open today, Monday, Aug. 29, as the 2016 Fall Semester begins. The R10 lot between Lake Hall and the Memorial Athletic and Convocation (MAC) Center also is open. Construction in the area will continue through next month to finish up landscaping and concrete work, but motorists will have access to and can park their vehicles in these lots beginning Aug. 29. Beginning fall 2016, Stark State College students with an Associate Degree in Nursing (A.D.N.) and their state license can earn their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) degree at 5X社区 at Stark through an articulation agreement signed this summer. 5X社区鈥檚 Dining Services has partnered with Tapingo to enable students, faculty and staff to order their meals online, pay electronically via their meal plan or credit card and request a pickup time. The service is expected to launch this fall, with a deployment date of Oct. 1. Tapingo will allow Dining Services鈥 customers to order, pay and pick up their meals, skipping the lines. In addition, Tapingo will provide a service where customers鈥 orders will be delivered within 30 minutes. Saying goodbye was more difficult than Riley Jernejcic could have ever imagined. Crouched down on the cobblestone street with her arms stretched out from one end to the other, Jernejcic cried out, 鈥淎dios. Abrazo,鈥 which means goodbye and hug in Spanish.
