As the Kent Student Center celebrates its 50th year, it is bringing back one of its most iconic venues: the Rathskeller! The Rathskeller is located in the lower level of the Kent Student Center. The reopening allowed for a new partnership with Tahini Mediterranean Cuisine, a local food truck establishing itself as a brick-and-mortar location on campus. Nearly 40 people from the Kent State community enjoyed a tour of the flowers and trees of Front Campus during part two of the “Walk & Talk: Flowers and Foliage” event, thanks to the Employee Wellness and Health Promotion program and the grounds crew on Friday, Sept. 16. Rebekkah Berryhill, grounds manager, gave the lunch-hour tour, which started behind Merrill Hall in the Beck Family Memorial Gardens in ''Behind the Brain Plaza.'' Last Friday, a group of about 10 Kent State students received a guided tour of one of the most unique spaces on the Kent Campus – the Herrick Conservatory. It’s the large greenhouse that’s attached to the north side of Cunningham Hall.   The 5,500-square-foot facility is home to a large and diverse selection of plants, plus some fish and a couple of turtles. 5X���� partnered with Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City for an international cross-cultural exchange for students to focus on studying how immigrant populations are aided by sustainable gardening projects.  The program enabled 11 Kent State students from the Stark and Kent campuses to spend their spring break in Mexico, and a group of 11 students from Universidad Panamericana (UP) to spend a week in Northeast Ohio in June, working at Shanti Community Farms in Akron’s North Hill neighborhood, which is home to large groups of immigrants.  Sarah Schmidt, assista...

Employee Wellness is pleased to sponsor on-site 3D mammography screenings at the Kent campus this October. In partnership with the Women's Diagnostic Center, we will offer annual routine digital mammograms Oct. 3-6, 2022. The Women's Diagnostic Center will provide 3D mammograms in their mobile coach unit which will be parked in the Heer Hall parking lot (635 Loop Rd - across from the ice arena).
